The Avernic Treads are a high-level piece of footwear introduced alongside the Doom of Mokhaiotl and the Delves update in Old School RuneScape. Offering some of the best-in-slot stats for strength-focused players, they’ve quickly become a sought-after upgrade for accounts looking to push their PvM and PvP efficiency to new levels.
How to Obtain Avernic Treads
Avernic Treads are obtained as a unique drop from the Doom of Mokhaiotl, the first Delve boss. Players must progress through the delve system, defeating Mokhaiotl at higher difficulties, to have a chance at this rare drop.
Rarity: Rare (approximately 1/500 drop chance)
Tradeable: Yes – can be bought and sold on the Grand Exchange
Requirements To Wear: 80 Defence, Strength, Ranged and Magic
Types of Avernic Treads
There are two versions of Avernic Treads in OSRS:
Avernic Treads (standard)
The tradeable version dropped by the Doom of Mokhaiotl.
Can be freely bought and sold on the Grand Exchange.
Offers high bonuses, but not quite as strong as the upgraded variant.
Avernic Treads (max)
A stronger, untradeable upgraded version of the boots.
Created by combining Avernic Treads with Primordial, Pegasian and Eternal boots, plus 12000 demon tears.
Provides slightly better bonuses, with higher strength and defensive stats, while retaining the +1 prayer bonus.
Since they are untradeable, only players who personally obtain and upgrade them can use them.
Stats & Bonuses
The Avernic Treads boast excellent tribrid bonuses, making them competitive with, and in some cases superior to, existing footwear options like Primordial, Pegasian and Eternal Boots.
Bonus Type | Avernic Treads Bonus |
Melee Attack | +5 |
Ranged Attack | +11 |
Magic Attack | +15 |
Melee Strength | +6 |
Ranged Strength | +3 |
Magic Strength | +2 |
Recommended Uses
High-Level PvM: Great for melee setups at bosses like God Wars Dungeon, Theatre of Blood, and Chambers of Xeric.
PvP Combat: The defensive stats paired with strength and prayer make them strong in hybrid/tank builds.
Market Value
Since Avernic Treads are a rare unique drop, their price is expected to remain high. As demand grows among PvMers and PKers, they could establish themselves as a staple item alongside Primordials and Eternal Boots. Exact values will fluctuate depending on rarity and supply from Delve farmers.
