NEW Cow Boss in OSRS

Jagex just released a new boss to oldschool known as the Cow Boss, Brutus and this is also available to free to play. It was first revealed at the 2026 Winter Summit.



You firstly need to complete the quest called The Ides Of Milk - then you can fight the boss for a range of rewards. It's a short and easy quest that you can start near the pond in the northern area of lumbridge.

1/8 - 3x Raw T-bone Steak (Heals 9 + Boost Strength By 2)

1/30 - Mooleta (F2P Steel Defender Equivalent)

1/37.5 - Bottomless Milk Bucket

1/150 - Cow Slippers

1/1000 - Beef (Cow Boss Pet)



Cow Boss Guide

The regular version of Brutus has a max hit of 19 and has 58 health. He can be defeated with medium to low combat stats, and it's not really possible to safespot Brutus.


The Cow Boss has 3 different attacks:

  • Regular Melee Attack: Brutus attacks with melee and has a max hit of 3 with this attack

  • "Snort" Attack: When Brutus displays "*snorts*" in the chat, he stomps and the tiles infront of him become dangerous

  • "Growl Attack: When Brutus displays "*growls*" in the chat, he will charge at the player

Hard Mode

The Cow Boss has a hard-mode version which is considerably harder than the base version of the boss. To be able to fight the hard mode version, known as Demonic Brutus, you need to complete Desert Treasure II.


To fight Demonic Brutus, you need an Abyssal Potato.

  • To obtain this, you take from the "growth" in the northern The Scar area from Desert Treasure II


Loot From Demonic Brutus

  • 100% of the time it will drop Brutus Slippers
