Most Profitable Slayer Tasks in 2026 (OSRS)

What's going on guys, my name's Theoatrix and today I'll be going through the most profitable slayers tasks in 2026 for Old School Runescape.

Last year I made a video like this one, but it wasn't well received since I focused on slayer bosses. Well in this video I'm going to show you the top 10 most profitable slayer tasks that aren't bosses, so these are just regular tasks that make a lot of money, let's get into it.

Guide Outline

If you would prefer to watch a video-version of this guide, I have linked that below. Otherwise, continue scrolling to read the written-version of this guide.

10 - Drakes

At number 10 we have a Drakes task, and this requires at least 84 slayer. These give around 650k GP per hour.

That's because you can cannon Drakes, and their profitability really comes from the Drakes tooth, Drakes claw, dragon knives and dragon thrownaxe drops.

While on task, you get boosted drop-rates, so the drakes items and dragon ranged weaponry is dropped at 5 times the rage. Dragon knives are currently 8k each, and the highest drop of 200 dragon knives totals 1.6 mil.

9 - Wyrms

In the 9th position is a Wyrms slayer task, requiring level 62 slayer, and these are another monster that drop dragon knives.

This puts them at 670k GP profit per hour at higher levels, with the most valuable drop being nearly 3 mil, the dragon harpoon.. Once again, the drops are 5 times more likely when on a Wyrm slayer task. So when killing them regularly, they don't make as much money.

8 - Spitting Wyrms

With 66 slayer, you can access the 8th most profitable slayer task, which is spitting wyverns on fossil island.

These bring in around 850k profit per hour, although the valuable drops are quite rare, meaning you can go quite dry here. This task requires the bone voyage quest plus elemental workshop 1 quest to fight them. The wyvern visage is worth over 24 mil right now, and is a 1 in 12k drop from here.

7 - Gargoyles

Then, in the number 7 spot is a gargoyles task, with 75 slayer, and killing the regular gargoyles nets around 900k profit per hour at higher levels.

You don't have to get lucky at gargoyles since they drop a range of valuable alchables and common drops, although you can get a granite maul drop, worth around 200k.

6 - Kurasks

The 6th most profitable slayer task, is fighting Kurasks, and specifically the Kurasks in Iorwerth dungeon.

These require the Song of the Elves quest, as well as level 70 slayer. They give 1.1mil an hour with high combat stats, but if you fight them elsewhere, you'll max out at around 800k GP per hour. This is because the Iorworth Kurasks drop crystal shards, which you can then convert into crystal dust and divine potions for a lot of money.

5 - Hydras

The fifth most profitable slayer task is a regular hydras task, requiring level 95 slayer, and with a range of valuable alchables and uniques, you can make 1.2 mil an hour here in the long run.

It also provides decent slayer XP, over 20k an hour, and hydras are the highest level slayer monster you can fight.

And with them being the highest slayer level, they are also the most mechanically challenging to kill out of any of the standard slayer monsters. They attack on the cycle with three ranged attacks and three mage attacks, similar to the boss and also have the poison special attack, so make sure you bring some sort of anti-poison.

While you need to kill the boss version to get some of the big ticket items like the hydra’s leather or the hydra’s claw, you can still get all 3 pieces of the brimstone ring.

4 - Skeletal Wyverns

With 72 slayer, you can fight skeletal wyverns for 1.3mil profit per hour.

To get a wyverns task, you need to complete the elemental workshop 1 quest, and overall they have a decent loot table, with a range of alchables and valuables, and they also have a chance of dropping a visage, worth 3.7 mil.

If you bring ranged, these can be safe-spotted by losing aggression and trapping them against the wall. This makes it a great place to go semi-afk even when off task.

3 - Dragons

At number 3 is a dragons task, and currently, the most profitable dragons to fight are adamant dragons.

These are 1.8 mil GP per hour at higher levels, and its possible to even reach over 2 mil an hour with the best gear. Rune dragons are also great, with potential to reach 2 mil an hour with good weaponry. Both of these dragons require dragon slayer 2. But there's also brutal black dragons requiring 77 slayer, and lava dragons which are both great options too.

2 - Revenants

And, the second most profitable slayer task currently, is a revenants task in the wilderness.

And revenants are currently 2 to 5 mil an hour depending on your stats and gear, depending on which revenants you kill, and also depending on whether you're skulled. You can get a range of ancient emblems, wilderness weapons and other valuable items here, and a strategy for high profit is fighting the revenant orcs while having a skull, which almost doubles the drop rate.

The reason the orcs are ideal is because they are found below level 30 wilderness. This means if you see a PK'er, you can instantly teleport out before they are able to kill you, making it relatively safe. However, Jagex did recently propose a revenant cave rework where they will be introducing a new layout of the caves as well as another revenant cave in the lower levels of the wilderness.

1 - Frost Dragons

And, the most profitable slayer task in the game, is a frost dragons task, currently bringing over 4 mil profit per hour.

These dragons have valuable bones as well as valuable drops like dragon metal sheets, dragon nails, dragon cannonballs, as well as the draconic visage. To fight these in the first place though, you do need level 87 sailing, but there is no slayer requirement to fight them.

Frost dragons, especially on task are the best way for ironmen to get the materials needed for the highest tier ship upgrades. So whether you are an ironman or a main account, they are definitely worth killing.

Honourable Mentions

And to finish the video I have 2 honorable mentions.

Since these are demi-bosses, I didn't include them in the top 10, but both tormented demons, as well as demonic gorillas currently bring in over 5 mil an hour at high levels.

They would be second and first place on this list if demi-bosses were included, but I still didn't include monsters like lizardman shamans since they aren't really a regular slayer task. If you're interested though, lizardman shamans would have sit at around number 6 on this list, at 1 mil profit an hour.

That's the most profitable slayer tasks in 2026. If you enjoyed this style of content, be sure to leave a like for more Old School Runescape content. Thanks for reading.
