What's going on guys, my name's Theoatrix and here are the most profitable 99s in Old School Runescape.
Guide Outline
If you'd prefer to watch a video version of this guide, you can watch that below. Otherwise you can continue down the page to read the written guide.
Runecrafting
Arguably, the most profitable 99s in the game, are Runecrafting, and thieving.

At Zeah Runecrafting, if you solely make blood runes to 99, you can expect up to 275 mil in profit. The GP per hour isn't high by any means, but its decent for how low effort it is.

If you runecraft blood, then soul runes at Zeah, you can make up to 170 mil, where souls give higher XP rates but less profit. Zeah runecrafting is great if you want to AFK, but runecrafting has even better ways to 99 while making even more money.

True blood runecrafting, with the raiment's of the eye set, will net over 600 mil in profit from when you unlock it to level 99. Without the set, you can expect over 400 mil.Its up to 2.6 mil GP per hour right now, while giving 48k runecrafting XP.

Other standard runecrafting methods also bring in decent money. Like at the guardians of the rift, or even at the Ourania altar, where you can expect to make up to 140 mil on your journey to 99 there.

At 95, you can runecraft wrath runes, and going from 95 to 99 solely doing wraths, you'll make up to 280 mil, with XP rates of 42k per hour.
Thieving
I also mentioned thieving as being one of the most profitable 99s.
With thieving, almost every training method is profitable. No matter what you do, Ardy knights, pyramid plunder, master farmers, rogues chests, they're all highly profitable.

Doing Ardy knights from when you unlock them to level 99, you'll profit 15 Mil with the rogues set. Even with the newer thieving methods, Ardy knights remain as one of the fastest thieving methods in the game, with XP rates of up to 240k per hour.

At 82, where you unlock Vyres, if you're on the droprate, you can make around 145 mil in blood shards. At the same time, you'll get over 170k XP per hour.

At 85, you unlock elves, which are about the same profitability as Vyres right now, but elves give a lot less XP per hour. You'll still make around 140 mil if you're on rate, from crystal teleport seed drops.
Mining
Mining is another skill where most methods are profitable.

By training at the motherlode mine all the way to 99, you can expect to make 80 mil in ores.
Doing blast mining, you can make 60 mil getting 99, or with gem mining, you'll make over 110 mil.
If you only care about profit, you could get 99 mining by just mining runite, and doing that, you'll profit 860 mil, but its very very slow XP.

Rune rocks aren't even the most profitable mining pathway. You could do Zalcano from when you unlock it, to level 99 mining, and you'll profit around 1.6 bil. It's 2 mil GP per hour, but only 15k mining XP per hour.
Agility
Just doing rooftops, you can expect to make about 30 mil worth of amylase crystals if you trade in the marks of grace. That equates to around 300k GP per hour.

The most efficient agility method in the game happens to also be very profitable, which is the hallowed sepulchre. Going from 92 to 99 at the sepulchre, completing every floor, you can expect to make over 150 mil in profit.

The wilderness agility course is the most profitable agility training method, but only if you don’t get PKed. It's currently over 2.5 mil GP per hour with long sessions, and if you never get PKed the entire way to 99 agility, you'll profit over 800 mil.
Hunter
Hunter is a skill that can be profitable with certain methods, like chinchompas or antelopes.

Catching red chins to 99 hunter will net over 90 mil in profit, with decent XP rates of over 110k XP per hour. Overall, red chins are a safe and fairly fast hunter method, giving around 800k in profit per hour.
Black chins are even more profitable, but only if you don’t get PKed. You'll make about 130 mil getting to 99 here, with slightly lower XP rates than red chins.

The new antelopes in Varlamore are decent for profit and XP right now as well. Moonlight antelopes will earn you over 100 mil getting 99, although sunlight antelopes will net over 170 mil, with slightly slower XP rates.
Fishing
Fishing is a 99 that can be profitable, but only if you do the slower methods.

For example, sacred eels to 99 fishing will net around 155 mil worth of Zulrahs scales. The XP rates are very low though, only 23k XP per hour.
Anglerfish from 82 To 99 will net 115 mil, but with even lower XP rates of 18k per hour.

The best profitable fishing method is dark crabs, where you can get 40k fishing XP per hour, while making 90 mil on your journey to 99.
Smithing
Smithing is a buyable skill.. If you want to train it quickly, you have to spend money. But if you're solely looking for profit, there are some decently fast training methods that make a lot of money.

Creating steel, mithril, adamant and rune bars at the blast furnace are all highly profitable methods with XP rates around 100k per hour. Rune bars are the most profit per hour, although you need 25 mil in starting capital to smith for 1 hour straight.
Adamant bars are about the same XP rate as rune, but have a much lower starting cost and are very easy to make.
You could consider cannonballs as a profitable way to 99, although its extremely slow XP. Getting 99 will net 170 mil in profit, making it the most profitable smithing method to 99, except its going to take up to 800 hours. Its 400 hours with the double ammo mould, and 800 hours with the regular mould.
Woodcutting
Woodcutting can be a profitable skill, but most of the training methods to 99 are not profitable since most people drop the logs that they get.
For example teaks are almost always dropped, unless you're an iron, and redwoods are also usually dropped to keep the AFKing consistent.

However, cutting yew and magic trees on a forestry world, while banking the logs, can be a highly profitable way to a 99. Cutting yews will net around 75 mil in profit, and magics will net 95 mil, but at slower XP rates.

So those skills that I've just gone through are all highly profitable 99s, but now I'm going to talk about some skills that are a little less profitable, and in some cases they work a little differently.
So those skills that I've just gone through are all highly profitable 99s, but now I'm going to talk about some skills that are a little less profitable, and in some cases they work a little differently.
Crafting
Crafting is one example, where recently, making water and earth battlestaves are both slightly profitable.

For example, with water battlestaves, its 6.5 mil in profit to 99, while getting 245k crafting XP per hour, which is very fast. So if you've been looking to get 99 crafting, now is your chance to get it for free and fast.

Making drift nets with crafting is a much more profitable method, where you can expect over 115 mil in profit getting to 99, although the XP rates max out at 60k per hour. So this is great for lower level crafters.
Cooking
Cooking is another skill that can be slightly profitable on your journey to 99.

For example, if you cooked sharks from 89 to 99 with cooking gauntlets, you would profit 10 mil. Your XP rate is over 250k with sharks, which makes it another fast and free 99 like crafting.
Firemaking
Training your firemaking at the Wintertodt can be another profitable 99, although the profit varies a lot since the drops depend on your skilling stats.

You can expect to make anywhere between 3 mil and 10 mil on your journey from 50 to 99 firemaking here.
Farming
Farming is a skill that works a little differently, and can be extremely profitable in some cases.

If you solely farmed ranarrs from when you unlock them, all the way to 99, you would make over 500 mil GP in profit. However… doing that would take over 8 thousand farm runs, which is barely even possible in 1 year of playing.
Combat Skills
Another set of skills that are hard to calculate are the combat skills.
Because, for example, if you did 90 to 99 ranged at Kree arra, the Armadyl boss, you can expect to make over 1.8 billion GP in profit. But that’s assuming you're only get 25k ranged XP per hour, which is extremely slow.
If you did 90 to 99 ranged at Vorkath, you can expect around 270 mil in profit, and the XP rates are better than Kree.

Depending on your playstyle, slayer can be the most profitable 99 in the game. If you aim to complete most of your tasks at bosses, you can expect to make well over 100 mil getting 99. Bosses like Cerberus, Arraxxor and hydra all net millions of GP profit per hour.
Anyways, that's all of the profitable 99's in OSRS, if you enjoyed this guide, be sure to leave a like. Thanks for reading.
