What's going on guys, my name's Theoatrix and today I'm going through the easiest pets to get in Oldschool Runescape.
Guide Outline
If you would prefer to watch a video-version of this guide, I have linked that below. Otherwise, continue scrolling to read the written-version of this guide.
AFK Boss Pets
In this guide, I'll cover the absolute fastest pets you can go and obtain. But starting off, I'm going to show the AFK bossing methods you can use to get a pet.
These are pets you can obtain with low effort and low click intensity, but some of them do have high requirements, however I will show some lower requirement pets shortly.
King Black Dragon

Its possible to completely AFK at the King Black Dragon for around 10 minutes at a time by using blood barrage… although to be able to do this method, you need some decent gear and especially need a dragon hunter wand.
You might be thinking that you have to run through the wilderness to get there, and you might lose your gear. Well, you can actually smuggle items into the King Black Dragons lair.

To do that, you die in the lair to create a gravestone, then you die in the outer world with all of your magic gear, and it automatically gets sent to the gravestone that's in the KBD lair. So then, you can make your way to KBD, collect your stuff from the gravestone, then you're set for AFKing.

To AFK effectively, you do need anti-poisons and antifire potions active at all times, and its strongly recommended to use Virtus robes to deal the most amount of damage. As a whole, its going to take around 40 to 50 hours of AFKing to be on the drop rate for the KBD pet, which is a 1 in 3000 drop.
Scurrius

The next AFK boss method I'm showing is at Scurrius, and this is a similar method to KBD where you use full Virtus and blood barrage, although for Scurrius, Virtus and a dragon hunter wand is not required.
I was able to get the Scurrius pet within 10 hours of doing this method, but on average, to be on the drop rate, its going to take around 80 to 90 hours, which is obviously quite a while.

With auto retaliate on, you can AFK for even longer than KBD, up to 20 minutes at a time since you're not relying on antifire or anti-poison potions. And despite Scurrius’s falling rocks attack dealing high damage, you will easily out-heal the rocks if you have a decent magic level.
While you're AFKing, why not learn a skill like programming on the side? With Boot.dev, you can earn XP, fight bosses and complete quests, while working towards becoming a fully qualified software developer.

They take you from beginner to expert in a fun way, which keeps you motivated and on top of the content. Boot.dev teaches backend web development specializing in the python, go, typescript and SQL programming languages, and if you're looking for a new career, or are just starting out, becoming a developer might be the right fit for you. Programmers usually have the option to work remotely, which means you can spend more time at home with family, and you can sneak in some extra hours on Runescape.
All of the coursework is available for free to read or watch, however with a boot.dev membership, you unlock progress tracking, hands on tools, new mechanics and ai assistance.

So if you're interested, head over to boot.dev and use the coupon “THEOATRIX2” to save 25% off your first year, and its worth noting that they have a 30 day money back guarantee with no questions asked, so its essentially free to try.
Thanks to boot.dev for sponsoring this guide.
Sarachnis
Now another boss that you can AFK is Sarachnis, and Sarachnis is slightly less AFK than the ones I've already shown, just because you can take a bit more damage.

With full justiciar, Aranea boots and a blood fury you can negate most of the damage to stay here for a long time. The Aranea boots completely negate the spider web attacks that freeze you in place, which makes this method even more viable for the mid levels. On average, its going to take 50 hours to be on the drop rate for the Sarachnis pet, with a pet drop rate of 1 in 3000.
Kraken

Now the final AFK bossing method for a pet, is fighting Kraken, which isn't as AFK as the past methods I've shown, but its as simple as using fishing explosives, then clicking the boss once, and you can AFK the entire kill. This of course, does have a 87 slayer requirement to partake, and it's recommended to have at least level 75 magic for a trident to do this boss AFK.
So those were the best AFK bossing methods to get a pet, but now lets circle back to the easiest pets to get in the entire game.
Easy Pets To Get
The Chaos Elemental pet is possibly the easiest pet to get in the game, where its possible to be on the drop rate for it within as little as 2 and a half hours.
Chaos Elemental

The pet is dropped at a rate of 1 in 300, which is far more common than most pet drops, and with decent combat stats, you can defeat it very quickly.
There's 2 viable methods to defeating the Chaos Elemental. You can fight it normally, or you can flinch it from a safe spot.

Normal combat is much quicker to defeat it, especially if using a wilderness weapon, although flinching is a great option for lower combat players or if you don't want to risk anything.
For the Chaos Elemental, you will need a decent defence level if you're fighting normally, and you definitely want to bring food that leaves an item behind, like pies, since the elemental has an attack which removes your gear.
Chompy Chick

Another pet which could be considered one of the fastest pets to obtain in the game, is the Chompy chick, which takes around 2 hours to be on the drop rate, but that's after completing the western elite diaries. And that requires 1000 Chompy kills, then its 1 in 500 to get the Chompy chick pet from there on out.
To speed up your Chompy catches, you can bring more bellows with you, and overall is one of the easiest pets in the game to obtain once you complete the diary.
Skotizo

Another notable mention as one of the fastest pets you can obtain, is the Skotizo pet, Skotos. The drop rate is only 1 in 65, but you do require 1 full totem to fight him once.
If you're farming totems within the catacombs, it takes around 60 hours to get 65 totems, making you on the drop rate, but if you end up training your slayer within the catacombs, you’ll earn these as you go, making Skotos a bit of a passive pet you can obtain. As a whole, with a 1 in 65 drop rate for the pet, that's the lowest possible drop rate for a bossing pet in the entire game.
Fastest High Level Pets
Now I'm going to show some pets that require more skill and practice to get, but are still very fast ones to get.
Yama

Highly skilled PvMers can complete the contracts at Yama, and one of the contracts, known as the contract of familiar acquisition, gives a 25 times boost in the drop rate for the pet, going to only a 1 in 100 drop rate. But, this is not an easy contract, where there's a number of disadvantages, like not being able to eat or heal prayer with consumables throughout the fight.
This means you need a lot of game knowledge and almost max gear to be able to do this contract in the first place, but if you're completing contracts efficiently, its going to take only 7 hours to be on the drop rate for the Yama pet, known as Yami.
Doom

Next is the new Doom Delve boss… and the chances of getting the pet becomes more common the further you go at doom, where its 1 in 1000 on wave 6, and then only 1 in 250 for waves 9 and above.
So this means, farming high delves, you can be on the drop rate for the Doom pet after only 10 hours of playing. And Doom is one of the best money makers, if not the best money maker in the game right now, where its possible to make up to 40 mil an hour.
Soul Wars

The Soul Wars pet is another one that's a bit easier to get than the rest. Its a 1 in 400 drop rate from the spoils of war reward, which means the average time to be on the drop rate is 28 hours.
To do it in that time though, you need to be using alt accounts to help yourself win the games. And Soul Wars does require at least 500 total and 40 combat to participate, which makes it a little more difficult to make an alt that you can bring along.
Royal Titans

At the new Royal Titans bosses, you can sacrifice your drop to have a better chance of getting the pet. The base rate is 1 in 3000, but with destroying the drop, it becomes 1 in 1500. This makes it a 25 hour pet with decent stats and gear.
Top 3 Fastest Skilling Pets To Get
Next up I'm going to talk about the top 3 fastest skilling pets you can get, and typically, skilling pets take longer to get than PvM pets, and once you reach 200 million XP in a skill, you have a 15 times boost in the chances of getting a pet.
Rocky

The fastest skilling pet in the game, can also be obtained semi AFK, and that is the thieving pet, Rocky. It takes 18 hours on average to be on the drop rate if you train at the Draynor stalls, where the drop rate is 1 in 34 thousand.
This only really works with an alt account that has the guards lured, then you can set up your camera to spam click between the two seed stalls. As a whole, Rocky is the most common pet in the game, aside from pets like cats.
Quetzin

The second fastest skilling pet you can obtain is the Quetzin hunter pet, which has a 1 in 1000 drop rate from expert and master hunter rumours.
For the fastest pet rate, you should complete expert rumours, and for the fastest XP, you should do master rumours. Overall, it takes an average of 41 hours of expert rumours to be on the drop rate for the Quetzin pet, and when you reach 200 million hunter XP, it changes the drop rate from 1 in 1000, to 1 in 67.
Recently there was a group ironman account who got 200mil hunter purely during hunter rumours. By the end of the 200 mil, they achieved over 120 Quetzin pets.
Smolcano

And, the third fastest skilling pet you can obtain, is the Zalcano pet, Smolcano. This is a 1 in 2250 drop for each Zalcano game that you complete, and this used to only be for the MVP of the match, but now every player has a chance of getting the pet. To be on the drop rate, you need to efficiently play Zalcano for 56 hours.
Anyways, those were the easiest pets to get in OSRS, and if you enjoyed this guide, be sure to leave a like, and subscribe to my second channel for more Old School content.
