Training Methods

There are four main training methods for the Sailing skill, each offering a unique way to explore the seas and earn experience. These include Port Tasks, Sea Charting, Shipwreck Salvaging and the Barracuda Trials.

Sea Charting (Level 1+)

ree

Sea Charting consists of unique, one-time exploration missions scattered across Gielinor’s oceans. Players complete these bespoke tasks to chart new territories, earning a single large reward of Sailing experience for each discovery.

Port Tasks (Level 1+)

Port Tasks are Sailing activities where players accept various assignments from Notice Boards located at major docks. Each task requires completing objectives at sea, rewarding players with Sailing experience and valuable resources upon completion. You will start with one task slot, increasing up to five as your Sailing level increases (the second slot opens up at Level 7 Sailing).

Shipwreck Salvaging (Level 15+)

Shipwreck Salvaging is a relaxed, resource-gathering activity where players navigate to sunken wrecks, deploy salvaging hooks, and recover materials from the seabed. This yields small amounts of Sailing experience alongside assorted resources.

Barracuda Trials (Level 30+)

The Barracuda Trials challenge players to navigate timed obstacle courses at sea, delivering rum and lost supplies to the Barracudas as quickly as possible. Successful runs grant significant chunks of Sailing experience based on completion time.
