[OSRS] Ultimate 1-99 Cooking Guide (Fastest/Cheapest/F2P/P2P/more!)

What’s going on guys! My name is Theoatrix, and today I am bringing you guys a level 1 – 99 Cooking Guide for Old School Runescape, with all the methods that I think are the cheapest and the fastest. Cooking can actually be a profitable skill at higher levels, especially with Monkfish and Sharks. But, at lower levels, you might be losing a bit of money. But, it is really not going to be a lot. I hope you enjoy…

Before I get into the guide, there are two things that I need to make a note of. The first thing is that I highly recommend getting the Cooking Gauntlets.

All you have to do is take the Gauntlets you receive from the quest to Catherby to the Cook behind the bank.

The next thing is my favourite cooking spot, which is at the Rogues Den. I don’t really recommend cooking anywhere else, because the Rogues Den really takes the prize for the closest one to a bank. The fire is literally no steps away from a bank. You can bank and then start cooking straight away.

Levels 1 -15 (Raw Shrimp)

Let’s get right into the guide. So, I am going to showcase the Free to Play and Pay to Play methods for cooking. But, from levels 1 – 35, it is the same for both. So, from levels 1 – 15, you cook Raw Shrimp, and you will need about 150 of these since you will be burning quite a few. That is going to take you only 5 minutes to get to level 15 Cooking.

Levels 15 – 25 (Raw Trout)

Once you reach that, you can start cooking Trout. You would need about 200 Raw Trout to get from level 15 – 25.

Levels 25 – 35 (Raw Salmon)

Then, from level 25 – 35, buy about 300 Raw Salmon. Getting from level 1 – 35 Cooking is going to take you about 20 minutes. It is really, really fast even at low levels and high levels.

Levels 35 – 99 (Pay to Play – Wines)

So, at level 35, you unlock fastest cooking method in the game if you are a member, and that is cooking Wines. From levels 35 – 99, it is only going to take you about 20 hours to get to 99 Cooking, and you will be getting 500 000 XP per hour. You will need 65 000 wines to do this, and it is going to cost you 13 000 000 from level 35 – 99. Now, obviously, that is kind of expensive for Cooking. So, I am going to go through the cheaper methods as well.

Level 35 – 50 (Raw Tuna)

For Pay to Play and Free to Play from level 35, cook Tuna until level 50. You will be getting about 120 000 XP per hour doing this. You will need 900 Raw Tuna to get to level 50.

Levels 50 – 75 (Raw Lobsters)

Then, from level 50 – 75, for both Free to Play and Pay to Play again, cook raw Lobsters – 10 000 of them – to level 75 with 160 000 XP per hour.

Levels 75 – 99 (Free to Play – Raw Swordfish)

Now, from here, Free to Play players, the only thing you can really cook is Swordfish all the way to level 99. You will need about 90 000 Raw Swordfish, and you will be getting 170 000 XP per hour, which is the fastest possible XP rate for Free to Play.

Pay to Play Methods

Now, for Pay to Play methods, there are two ways you can go about doing it. There is a cheap method, which will make you a bit of profit, and the alternative method, which may lead to a bit of loss at first but by the end, you will be making a bit of money.

Cheap Method

Level 75 – 81 (Cooking Lobsters with Cooking Gauntlets)

So, the cheap method is using Cooking Gauntlets, as I mentioned earlier. From level 75 – 81, you could go back to cooking Lobsters because you will not be burning any of them at all. You will need 9000 Lobsters to get to level 81, and it is only going to cost you about 350 000.

Level 81 – 94 (Cooking Swordfish with Cooking Gauntlets)

Then, from level 81 – 94, you cook Swordfish, and you have a 0% burn rate at level 81 with Cooking Gauntlets. You will need to buy about 42 000 Raw Swordfish, and that is going to cost you 500 000 to get to 94.

Level 94 – 99 (Cooking Sharks with Cooking Gauntlets)

At level 94, you start making profit since you have a 0% burn rate when cooking Sharks. So, you will need about 25 000 Raw Sharks to get from level 94 – 99, and you will make about 3 000 000 getting to 99. You are going to get 270 000 XP per hour, which is really fast, but only half of the fastest method.

Alternative Method

Level 80 – 99 (Cooking Sharks)

Now, the alternative, which is a bit less profit, but might be a little bit quicker, is to cook Sharks as soon as you unlock them at level 80 Cooking. You might lose a bit of money at first from burning them. But, you will profit once you hit level 94. You will need about 54 000 Raw Sharks, including the ones you will burn, to get to level 99 Cooking, and your XP rates will steadily be rising as you go up levels.

Alternate Methods

Another alternate method is to cook Raw Monkfish from levels 80 – 99 for a 7 000 000 profit and 190 000 XP per hour.

Karambwans and Sacred Eels are the best profit actually. But, the ways to cook them and gather them are far more different and will take you way too long. So, in the long run, Monkfish is the best for money.

So, in conclusion, if you are willing to spend 13 000 000, you should definitely cook wines from level 35 – 99. It is going to save you a ton of time, and it is one of the fastest 99s you can get in the game. If you do not want to spend, and you want to make a small profit, you should cook sharks from level 94 – 99 for that 3 000 000 profit, or, as I said, Monkfish for a bit more.

I hope you learned something today or enjoyed. If you did, be sure to leave a like, and make sure to subscribe if you are new. As always, thanks for reading this article, and have a nice day!
