What's going on guys, my names Theoatrix and welcome to my complete updated 1-99 firemaking guide.
Guide Outline
If you would prefer to watch a video-version of this guide, I have linked that below. Otherwise, continue scrolling to read the written-version of this guide.
Changes To Firemaking
In 2024, Jagex updated Wintertodt.

Inside, taking damage was replaced with warmth, where you now have a warmth meter.
Your hitpoints level no longer affects how much damage you take, and any item that would normally affect your hitpoints now affects warmth.
Why Train Firemaking?
Firemaking isn’t the most useful skill, but it does unlock fire pits, which you can light for different boosts.

The fire pit of eternal light can permanently light up certain caves, or the pit of unseasonal warmth removes the chilling effect near god wars.
Firemaking is a fast and easy skill to train, and it can be beneficial for early-game ironmen to train at the Wintertodt.
Pathways to 99
There are essentially 3 different pathways to 99 firemaking…

You can light logs normally to reach 99 in about 30 hours, and at a cost of 28 mil.
You can burn logs in a bonfire, or campfire, for afk experience, although it is more expensive and slower XP per hour.
Or you can train at the Wintertodt, which takes roughly 40 hours to reach 99 and is profitable.

So for those going for the fastest 99 should light the best logs available.
On the Wintertodt pathway, you can optionally fletch the logs for more points but less experience, and it takes around 600 games to reach 99 this way. If you don't care about loot, then not fletching is faster, saving about 5 hours.
Fastest Way to 99
So now I'll show you the fastest way to level 99. These are the logs you’ll need for the entire journey, and its going to cost 28 mil.

From level 1, I would recommend getting some firelighters off the grand exchange which will speed up your XP. Firelighters remove the wait time to light a log, very useful for low levelled firemakers.
Some notable locations to train regular firemaking are Varrock west bank and the grand exchange.
You ca

n get an inventory of logs out of the Varrock west bank, then teleport to Varrock, and make fires in a line all the way to the bank, and repeat.
At the grand exchange, you can run a little bit west, then light fires until you're on the eastern side, and bank and repeat.
At max efficiency, you're going to get 520k XP per hour with lighting redwood logs, which is a very fast training method..
AFK Firemaking
Next is bonfires, and these are done by firstly lighting a log, then using a log on the fire to create a foresters campfire. Then you can add logs to the fire for 1 third of the regular firemaking experience.

On the screen are all of the log quantities needed to reach 99. You can see that its a lot more than regular firemaking, but is also a lot more AFK. For every inventory of logs, you can AFK for around 70 seconds, which is a long time…
Common places to train firemaking with campfires include the grand exchange or any other bank that lets you light a fire nearby.
Wintertodt
Next I'm going to show you how to partake in the Wintertodt…

In short summary, the Wintertodt is a firemaking skilling boss which requires level 50 firemaking. That is the only requirement, but you do also get fletching, construction and herblore experience while playing. To get herblore experience, you need to have completed druidic ritual. To get construction XP, you need to own a player owned house.

The Wintertodt provides some fast XP rates in firemaking, where at level 50, you can expect 160k XP per hour, scaling up to 320k XP per hour at 99. It's not as fast as burning logs manually, but it is a lot faster than bonfires and you also get loot from the Wintertodt, making it the only profitable firemaking method in the game.
The fastest way there is with a games necklace teleport, which requires you to have entered Kourend at least once to use.
Alternatively the CIS fairy ring or Arceuus library teleports are also quite close by.
For the Wintertodt, you need an axe, and if you have above 50 woodcutting, a steel axe has the same chopping rate compared to a rune axe. If your woodcutting level is lower than 50, you should use the best axe you can.

You also need food for the Wintertodt, and every piece of food that heals at least 4 hitpoints will regenerate 35 percent of your warmth. This means food like cakes are an excellent option, since you can heal 105% warmth at all hitpoints levels.
You can also make rejuvenation potions within the activity, and each dose heals 30 percent warmth. You can simply make one before each game, or make a few, and you’ll be set for a few rounds. These are the most convenient way to regenerate warmth as they don't require any banking.

In the starting area of the Wintertodt, there are some items you can get for free which you'll need while playing.
Specifically you should take a tinderbox, knife and a hammer. You should take vials if you're healing the pyromancer.

Within the Wintertodt, you'll also need to wear warm clothing to take less damage. You need 4 pieces of warm clothing to fully reduce the damage. All accounts can get the clue hunter outfit which acts as warm clothing. The Christmas event reward outfits also work as warm clothing, otherwise there are a number of other options that work.
Possible Attacks
There are 5 attacks that the Wintertodt can do.
Standard Attack

The Wintertodt can attack the player with it's cold throughout the fight. The amount of cold damage depends on how many braziers are actively lit in the room and the overall hitpoints of the Wintertodt.
Brazier Attack

The Wintertodt will occasionally break each brazier in the room. Whenever the Wintertodt does this, the player must step one tile away from the brazier then repair it after it is broken. If the player fails to step away from the brazier as it breaks, they will take a decent chunk of cold damage.
Snowfall Attack

The Wintertodt will occasionally throw down snow in a 3x3 area. Players must react to this falling snow and step out of it before it lands on them, otherwise the player will take cold damage.
Brazier Dousing Attack

The Wintertodt occasionally douses the fire in the braziers. Players must click on the brazier to relight it. This does no direct damage to the player, however leaving braziers unlit will make the standard cold damage hit more on the player.
Pyromancer Attack

The Wintertodt occasionally damages the pyromancer. Once the pyromancer is at 0 health, players will need to heal the pyromancer in order to relight the brazier.
Strategies
The idea is that you chop bruma logs, then optionally fletch the logs, then add them to the braziers.

When fletching, its a good idea to stand near the brazier so you can repair and relight it when it breaks or goes unlit. This is a great way to get a few extra points and experience.
There are certain tiles within the activity where you cant get damaged by the snowfall attack. These tiles are safe since the 3 by 3 attack cant reach you there.

Skillcape Perk
So once you reach 99 firemaking, the Firemaking cape can be purchased from Ignatius Vulcan found south of seer’s village for 99k.

This skillcape acts as an inextinguishable light source and also acts as warm clothing for the Wintertodt.
Anyways, that's my complete 1-99 Firemaking guide. Thanks for reading.
