4 Profitable Ways to 99 Crafting (OSRS)

What’s going on guys! My name is Theoatrix, and welcome to 4 Profitable Ways to 99 Crafting.

The fastest efficient way to 99 Crafting is through Dragonhide bodies, and getting to 99 with D’Hide bodies will cost over 100 000 000. That translates to a 3 000 000 loss per hour. Well, today I wanted to show you 4 different Crafting training methods that give good XP rates and are also profitable. If you really, really need to level your Crafting and just do not have the money, this article will definitely put you in the right direction.

I have made a page on my website under slash profit crafting, and the page grabs the current GE prices for all the methods I am going to show in this article, and shows you the profit per hour and the profit to level 99. I am going to include the current profit rates in this article. But, if you are reading this down the track, I would recommend having a look at this page after the article to see the prices.

1. Snakeskin

Snakeskin Shields

The first methods are Snakeskin, and first off, Snakeskin Shields. Crafting these, you can get XP rates of up to 75 000 per hour. The thing about these shields is that they have a high Alch value of 552 coins, and to make them, you need a hammer, a willow shield, iron nails, and two snakeskin. Since Zulrah drops 35 noted snakeskin really commonly, there is a huge supply of them in the game. So, all of the materials cost about 300 coins, and then once you make the snakeskin shield, the high Alch value is 552 coins. So, if you try to sell them on the Grand Exchange and they just do not sell, you can go ahead and High Alch them. In saying that, all of the other snakeskin pieces are profitable as well. But, for these ones, you need to use a needle and thread.

Snakeskin Boots

Snakeskin Boots are the most profitable one all the way through to level 99, and the XP rates can reach upwards of about 40 000 – 45 000 XP per hour, which is not too fast. You make 120 000 000 through to level 99, and Snakeskin Boots will always be in pretty high demand, mainly due to PKing.

Snakeskin Bandanna

Another one that is really notable is the Snakeskin Bandanna, and the weird thing about the bandanna is that you get more XP and it uses less snakeskin. So, with that, you can get XP rates of up to 70 000 XP per hour. But, going through to 99, the profit will only be about 60 000 000 compared to the 120 000 000. I expect the prices of these to fluctuate a little bit after this post. But, the snakeskin shield seems to be a fail-safe option.

2. Low level Gems

Opal

The next category is low level gems, and at Crafting levels below level 20, cutting Opals is not profitable. But, once you reach level 20, you start to break even, and gradually profit, since your crafting level affects how often you crush them. If you went all the way to level 99 with just opals, you would profit about 30 000 000, and the XP rates reach up to 40 000 XP per hour. At higher Crafting levels, you will be making 100 000 coins per hour, which is pretty decent. But, the XP rates are ridiculously low for high levels. So, this is more recommended for low level players. Opals are unlocked at level 1. So, anybody can cut opals.

Jades

Jades are unlocked at level 13 Crafting. But, there is a pretty low supply of these on the Grand Exchange. So, I would not really recommend delving into them. But, with the current prices, they are profitable, and do give XP rates a little bit higher than Opals.

Red Topaz

Now, Red Topaz is unlocked at level 16 Crafting, and is in really high demand right now due to the Burning Amulet. The thing about Red Topaz is that it is only profitable above level 90 Crafting when you have around a 90% success rate of cutting the Topaz. From 90 – 99 Crafting, you will profit 10 000 000, which is really good for XP rates reaching 70 000 XP per hour. Realistically, you could go from level 1 – 90 with Opals, and then 90 – 99 with Red Topaz, and you would come out with around 30 000 000 in profit.

3. Jewellery

Gold Items

The next category is Jewellery, and you need to be very careful when it comes to jewellery, especially the silver jewellery, because a lot of the time, they are not traded on the Grand Exchange much. But, in this article, I will focus on the stable profitable ones that are in very high demand. For all of these methods, you will need a specific mold, which you can very easily buy off the Grand Exchange, or from any Crafting Store across Runescape. At a very low Crafting level, Gold jewellery has always been a decently profitable and AFK way to train your Crafting. This is a method that is more recommended to Free to Play players because you can get over 100 000 coins per hour, and it is not click intensive at all. Your XP rate really depends on where you bank. Al Kharid is a longer walk to the bank. But, as a member, you have access to banks closer to furnaces.

Sapphire Rings

Now, these are good for really low level crafting. But, another method that is Free to Play but may not seem like it is Sapphire Rings. Sapphire Rings give a GP / XP of approximately 4, which means that getting to 99 would net you about 40 000 000 – 50 000 000 in profit. The XP rates with the Sapphire Rings are far better than Gold items, and you would be on 40 000 – 50 000 XP per hour, while profiting almost 200 000 per hour.

Emerald Rings

Emerald Rings are also Free to Play, and they profit exactly the same amount per hour as Sapphire Rings, except that you will be getting better Crafting XP – over 60 000 Crafting XP per hour. Since you are getting a little bit faster, XP going to 99 will make you around 30 000 000. Both the Sapphire Rings and the Emerald Rings will always remain in high demand because they are used for Rings of Recoil and Rings of Dueling. Making these rings on a lot of Free to Play Alts is probably the fastest way to get a bond as a Free to Play player.

Sliver Opal Bracelets (Members)

In terms of silver jewellery for members, one that will always remain consistent is Opal Bracelets, since they will always be enchanted into Expeditious Bracelets for Slayer training. Opal Bracelets give a max XP rate of 55 000 XP per hour. But, the good thing about these is that you profit more per hour than Sapphire and Emerald Rings.

You can get up to 270 000 GP per hour, and to level 99, you get the same profit as Sapphire Rings – so, about 40 000 000 – 50 000 000 in profit. But, the Opal Bracelets are faster in XP rates.

Dragonstone Bracelets

The last piece of jewellery I want to talk about is Dragonstone Bracelets, and this one took me a little while to get my head around. But, I finally worked it out. Currently, the price of Combat Bracelets is a lot lower than its High Alch price, and the price will not go lower than that because people will just start Alching the Combat Bracelets for profit, bringing it back up to a more stable price. Because of this, Dragonstone Bracelets are a very stable way to profit or at least break even while you are training Crafting. I tried them out, and was getting about 1.6 GP / XP in profit, and the XP rates reach over 130 000 XP per hour, which is really, really fast for a profitable method. This, however, is a method that fluctuates a lot because of the price of Dragonstone. But, the little point I made about the Combat Bracelets and the Alch price means that even if no one is buying your Bracelets, you can just get a ton of Dragonstone Enchant Tablets, or use the Spell, and then Alch the Combat Bracelets. To level 99, you would profit about 13 000 000 from level 74 when you unlock them at this current point in time.

4. Runecrafting on Zeah

Now, the last category of this article is not particularly one you should do all the way through to level 99 Crafting. But, by now, I have given you a lot more than 4 different methods to level 99. The final method is actually Runecrafting at Zeah. Going through to level 99 Runecrafting doing Blood Runes and then Soul Runes will get you about 1 800 000 Crafting XP, which is almost level 80 Crafting.

The thing about Zeah Runecrafting is that it is very profitable at the same time, especially the Blood Runes. You will only max out at about 7000 Crafting XP per hour, which obviously is not worth it for just the Crafting XP. But, you also get about 5000 Mining XP and 40 000 – 50 000 Runecrafting XP per hour, depending on which one you are doing. This is a method that you should always keep in mind if you are going for max because this will get some of the Crafting XP already out of the way, and it will unlock some of the higher level methods for you if you go for 99 Runecrafting first.

Summary

So, I wanted to do a quick summary of this article. I started off talking ab out all of the Snakeskin items. The most notable ones were the Snakeskin Boots and the Snakeskin Bandanna, with the bandanna giving the most XP per hour. In terms of gems, Opals are a great method at low levels, and can be profitable at a really high level. Red Topaz are also profitable at a very, very high level. But, you should always double check the prices. In terms of jewellery, Gold is great for Free to Play, and so is the Sapphire and Emerald Rings. The Opal Bracelet is better profit per hour, and then the Dragonstone Bracelets are less profit but more XP per hour. Lastly, I spoke about the Runecrafting on Zeah, and you get about 1 800 000 Crafting XP and 1 000 000 – 1 500 000 Mining XP as well.

So, that is the four methods. If you would like to check out the current prices off all the methods that I have listed in this article, check out the link at the end of the article. I hope you learned something today or enjoyed. If you did, be sure to leave a like, and make sure to subscribe if you are new. As always, thanks for reading this article, and have a nice day!
