Five Least Common 99s in OSRS

What’s going on guys! My name is Theoatrix, and today I am going to be speaking about the 5 least common 99s that exist in Old School Runescape. So, throughout this article, I am going to talk about how many people exactly have that certain 99 in that skill, and I am also going to talk about how many people have 200 000 000 XP in those skills as well. On top of that, I am going to talk about the Skill Cape perk for a little bit of extra information throughout this article, and I am also going to talk about why I think that these are the least common 99s. The data regarding how many people have that certain 99 or 200 000 000 XP is from the 21st of July 2017. Let’s get right into it.

5. Smithing

Starting off at number 5, the 5th least common 99 in Old School Runescape is Smithing, and there are 5442 people with 99, and 28 people with 200 000 000 XP. This one kind of surprised me because smithing is actually a very quick 99, and it is not overly expensive. On top of that, I think the smithing skill cape is probably one of the nicest looking skill capes, since it has a gold trim when it is trimmed. However, as of the 21st July 2017, the Blast Furnace update did not exist, and since that has been released, where there are now workers there that do the repairing and things for you, I feel that the XP rates are now quite a bit higher and easier to maintain.

In saying that, more people are going to go for that 99 Smithing. 99 Smithing costs about 58 000 000, and it is possible to get XP rates of up to 300 000 XP per hour using Gold at the Blast Furnace. The smithing skill cape perk allows the Coal Bag to hold 36 coal instead of 27, and it also acts as a pair of Gold Smithing Gauntlets. Now, these two perks are not really that useful at all, and I think that is really contributing the fact that this is a very uncommon 99, because once you hit 99, there is really nothing that important that you can do.

4. Agility

The 4th least common 99 is Agility, and 5374 people 99 Agility in Old School Runescape, while 13 people have 200 000 000 XP. Now, in my opinion, this is completely understandable why this is so uncommon. It is such a slow and boring skill, so it completely makes sense, and it is really slow in the sense that the fastest XP rate in the game for Agility is 65 000 XP per hour more or less at the Brimhaven Agility Arena with the Karamja Gloves 4. The Karamja Gloves 4 give you 10% more XP, and a 10% chance of receiving double the tickets. So, essentially, Agility is very, very slow, and not overly useful at very high levels.

3. Mining

Now, the 3rd least common 99 is Mining. 4696 People have 99 Mining, but only 3 people in the game have 200 000 000 XP. Now, Mining is another very, very slow 99. But, believe it or not, the XP rates can be faster than Agility, with the fastest XP in the game being 3 tick Granite. I have seen videos of people getting well over 100 000 XP per hour in Mining, which is unheard of. But, the click intensity that I saw in those videos was insane. The XP rates at the Motherlode Mine are way less. So, realistically, the reason why there are barely any people with 99 Mining is due to the slow XP rates. But, the profit that does come out of Mining at high levels makes it somewhat surprising. But, I think just getting to that point is ridiculous. The mining skill cape perk gives a 5% chance of receiving an extra ore if you are mining anything up to Adamant anywhere, and this stacks with Varrock armour. So, this is great for completionists that are trying to get a lot of XP above level 99 Mining. But, really, it is not that useful since once you get 99 Mining, you had better hope you are not doing any more.

2. Construction

Now, the 2nd least common 99 is fairly surprising actually, and it is Construction. Only 4437 people have 99 Construction, while in terms of 200 000 000 XP, only 13 people have it in the game. Construction itself is actually one of the fastest 99s in the game, and it is also one of the most useful skills in the game to train for the things you can put in your house. Now, making Mahogany Tables, which is the fastest Construction XP – well, the fastest reasonable Construction XP, because you can do things like Demonic Thrones but that is just ridiculous – you can get at least 450 000 XP per hour doing. But, it does cost you 190 000 000. Now, I did make a guide on the most useful things that you can put into your Player Owned House. I will leave the link to that guide at the end of this article. It is a very interesting guide with some really interesting information in there. So, definitely check it out. Now, with the construction skill cape, when you equip the cape, it lets you teleport to your house unlimited times a day. So, that is a very useful perk. It can also teleport you to the different house portals – Rimmington, Kourend, Rellekka, all of them. So, that is another very useful perk. This is one thing that would actually become less useful, even after you reach 99 Construction, because it is not really related to Construction. Now, all in all, I think the main reason why not that many people have 99 Construction is because you can max out your house before you get to 99 Construction, since you can boost it so easily. On top of that, it is so expensive. So, people choose to stick to the lower levels and boost up to the high levels in order to make certain things.

1. Runecrafting

Now, the least common 99 in Old School Runescape, as you would probably expect, is Runecrafting. Only 4092 people have 99 Runecrafting, and 3 of those people have 200 000 000 XP. Now, Runecrafting is another very, very slow skill. But, it can be somewhat AFK with Blood and Soul Runes, and on top of that, it is actually a very profitable skill, and it can make you well over 400 000 000 getting to level 99 if you do the money making training methods. But, it think the main thing that draws people away form Runecrafting is that the fastest XP in the game is through Lava Runes, and Lava Runes are not profitable, the XP rates can only reach up to about 70 000 XP an hour, which is not that good, and it is overly click intensive, requiring an unbelievable amount of focus. Pretty much every Runecrafting method, except for the Ourania Altar, Blood Runes and Soul Runes, are very click intensive and require a lot of focus. So, that is probably the number 1 thing that draws people away from it. Also, the skill cape perk acts as a substitute as Talismans and Tiaras, so you can wear that instead of having any Tiaras or Talismans, and you can go to any altar that you want. Also, it stops the Runecrafting Pouches from degrading. Now, these two perks are very, very useful, except for the fact that you are already at level 99 Runecrafting. Now, one thing that they would come in handy for is if you are Runecrafting Death Runes, which requires 99 Runecrafting, and is currently one of the best money making methods in the game, giving over 1 300 000 an hour. Now, I completely understand why Runecrafting is probably the least common 99 in Old School Runescape due to how slow it really is. But, the profit that you can make from it makes it kind of surprising that not as many people have it. I guess that they may just have other methods to make money and just choose really not to do Runecrafting.

Anyways guys, that is everything about the least common 99s in Old School Runescape. I hope you learned something pretty helpful today or enjoyed. I tried to include as many useful tips as possible.
